Kopfweh

A look at Kopfweh

One attack, one tap

Set the strength, save

Every attack in the calendar

The weather is added for you

What comes with your attacks?
What Kopfweh does
Log an attack with one tap. The weather is added, the pressure curve shows the forecast, and over time you see what comes with your attacks more often.
Kopfweh is a headache diary for iPhone and iPad. You log an attack with one tap, the app adds the weather and over time shows what comes with your attacks more often: weather, sleep, cycle, stress and more.
What the app does
- Log an attack with one tap: tap the strength from 1 to 10, done
- With details: earlier start, side, symptoms such as nausea, aura or neck pain, medication with dose, note
- During an attack: duration on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, add your usual medication with one tap
- Siri, Shortcuts, Control Center and the Action button: "Record attack" only asks for the strength
- After it ends: could you carry on as usual? This counts in the report
- For every attack: air pressure, change over 6 and 24 hours, temperature, humidity and the pressure curve of the 48 hours before
- On Today the pressure curve runs on into the forecast, with the pressure change by tomorrow noon
- History as a month calendar; tap a day to see attacks, check-in and weather, and add a forgotten attack there
- Evening check-in in two taps: stress, alcohol, skipped meal, little to drink, tired, lots of screen time, lots of sport; a forgotten evening can be added the next day
- Apple Health, optional: sleep, cycle, HRV, resting heart rate and exercise minutes feed the patterns, attacks can be saved to Health as headaches
- Patterns across 18 factors, with numbers instead of claims
- Effect of each medication; two hours after taking it the app asks
- Counter for days with medication over the last 30 days, with a note from 10 days
- Report for your doctor as a PDF over 1, 3, 6 or 12 months, export as CSV
- Sync through your iCloud between iPhone and iPad
HOW THE PATTERNS WORK The app compares days with a factor against days without it, for example: an attack on 6 of 14 days with a pressure drop, on other days on 4 of 50. The first patterns appear after five days with and fourteen days without an attack. A clear sign needs enough days; chance should not look like a pattern.
NOT A MEDICAL DEVICE Kopfweh is a diary that helps you keep records. The app is not a medical device: it does not diagnose, does not assess symptoms, does not recommend treatment and does not replace medical advice. Patterns, hints and notifications are counts from your own entries and can be incomplete or wrong. Decide on medication and treatment with your doctor. With a sudden, very severe or new kind of headache, call emergency services right away.
PRIVACY There is no account and no analytics. Your entries stay on your devices and in your iCloud. Values from Apple Health stay on the device. For the weather, the approximate location goes to Apple Weather.
